The only things that could be added to make it better are the speech samples of the arcade Turtles in Time, which are not present in the SNES version. Which is fine with me, because I deem both of them superior to their Turtles in Time counterparts (especially the intro scene).

When you say "modified the open movie to use the turtles in time dialogue", what do you mean? It's the Scene 1 screen with the "Big Apple 3AM" speech and the Fly Baxter silhouette? Because I noticed both the opening scene and the intro scene of the games are still the same of Hyperstone Heist. The whole reason I wanted to disassemble Hyperstone Heist was to make my own levels, so I am going to start on a fresh hack (well it will borrow from other games such as foot soldiers and such, but will not try to port any existing levels).Īs always, an excellent job with this disassembly/hack, bgvanbur. With all this said, I think this is the end of the rope for my turtles in time hack. The roadkill rodney and mousers used the same palette, yet I don't think the hyperstone heist ever had these at the same time either.

Speaking of foot soldier palettes, there is a unused green foot soldier palette but I don't see any code or sprite data for this missing foot soldier, it makes me want to add the green bow and arrow foot soldier at some point. And if the background palette used the common turtle/foot soldier palette you could even have four different foot at one time. Technically there was no reason to not see more groups with 3 different foot soldiers. Hyperstone Heist never seemed to have 3 different foot soldier types on the screen at once even the engine easily allowed for this (the red foot was always available and shared a palette with player 1, and a second foot typically shared the palette with player 2 but sometimes would use the third palette depending on what was loaded, they even had unused routines to load the foot soldier palettes into the fourth palette typically used for the stage background).

So a new copyright message, a turtles in time title screen, modified the open movie to use the turtles in time dialogue, baxter's silhouette (granted it doesn't match the one you will fight) and big apple 3am PCM, parallax scrolling of the big apple 3am stage with a full level of enemy waves inspired from the SNES waves with some extra roadkill rodneys and mousers before reusing the hyperstone baxter. Everything from starting the game to the beating of Baxter in scene 1 is touched.
